Face Forward

God has been dealing with my heart about facing forward, keeping my eyes and heart on things ahead. He say’s in Luke 9:62 “No one having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Jesus is saying that the kingdom isn’t for those who “look back” but for those who are facing forward, moving ahead.

How many of us are living our lives in the past, living in regret, past successes, hurts, wounds or failures, past relationships now broken or gone. The Lord is encouraging us to face forward, not backward. We have been given “PLOWS” (purposes, plans and destiny’s) for our lives. If a farmer tries to plow looking over his shoulder he will plow a crooked line.

Continually looking back will hold us in bondage to the past when new beginnings are awaiting in the path ahead. The Kingdom of God and the Glory and presence of the Lord are waiting down that path.

Do you want to go deeper?

There is a scripture that I keep going to concerning facing forward in Ezekiel 1:9, the whole chapter intrigues me but verse 9 stood out. The living creatures…I have been praying, God show me what it is about the living creatures that you are trying to show me. I had been sharing with a friend about facing forward and then ran across an article about “Ezekiel’s Vision,” I went back to this scripture and it sank in. It say’s …the creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward… OK, the living creatures had four sides and four faces, so wherever they went they always moved forward, never backwards. They were always facing forward, WOW, what a revelation. I had read this a hundred times and sometimes stopped at this verse pondering the thought of their four sides and faces. This is what God expects of His Church, just like the living creatures in Ezekiel always faced forward no matter which way they moved, we should be moving likewise in a way that never looks back. There is no backwards in the Kingdom, always forward.

Four living creatures Ez. 1;9

Where did the living creatures come from? Verse 4 says “I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. Verse 5, Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures…” They came from the presence of the Lord.

Now here comes the part about the very small article I read touching on Ezekiel’s vision, he was talking about Kairos time and relating it to the living creatures. This created an enigma for me but I asked the Holy Spirit to give me revelation.

Kairos is time that can’t be measured in past, present or future, but is always present, “NOW” (presence). It is another dimension of time, just as the creatures move in another dimension of space. They are always moving in the now.

Kairos Time

The Dimensions of God are Kairos and Presence, Not Chronos and Temporal Space.
Chronos is clocks, deadlines, calendars, schedules, agendas. Chronos is world’s time. Kairos is Spirit time, presence, now, the speed of light. “God is light”

In John 6:18-21 it states that when they willingly received Jesus into the boat that immediately the boat was moved from the sea to the shore that was Kairos and Presence (His Presence)…it was not temporal space.
In Acts 8:39-40 When Phillip was translated to Azotus, that happened in Kairos and Presence, not in temporal space.

Job had 7,000 sheep before he was attacked by the enemy and lost them, but when he was restored he had 14,000. He was restored what he had lost PLUS the increase as if he had never lost it. Job 42:12-17

Don’t count time lost (running from God, being away from the Lord) and keep looking back wishing you had made better choices. FACE FORWARD—God can make this a Kairos time and you can achieve in a few months what you didn’t achieve in many years. FACE FORWARD—step into His Kairos and He will restore you to the point where you should be if you hadn’t lost so many years.

But this can only happen within the Lord’s presence. Just like the living creatures, who came from within the whirlwind and the fire, and the brightness of His glory. When we get in His presence time stands still, they say when one reaches the speed of light it’s as if time stands still. You are in the “NOW,” you have stepped from Chronos into Kairos (His Presence). This is redeeming time, recovering time, all that seemed lost can be restored. Years long gone and hopes and dreams unfulfilled can come to fruition in His presence. We live in Chronos time, but in the Presence of the Most High, Kairos becomes our time.

Let’s make a move towards God and FACE FORWARD.

I wrote this blog in 2009 and was sharing about facing forward with a friend and wanted to share this Kairos word that Holy Spirit shared with me in a season of facing forward…and continuing to move towards God.
