9th Day of “Stepping Beyond the Veil Fast”

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways…

Our prayer and fasting focus for today is Isaiah 55:8.

As one crying out in the wilderness, “Prepare the way of The Lord,” there is a WAY, a path, a highway, it’s the high-WAY of Holiness. Isaiah 35:8

There is a “higher dimension” we are called to live from.  A path less trodden. Matthew 7:14  We can feel trapped in a world of dos and don’ts.  In Colossians 2:20-23 Paul was talking to the church when he said, “Since you have died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why do you keep following the commandments and doctrines of men? Such as Do no touch, do not taste, do not handle. These things have an appearance of holiness but have no help or value in overcoming the fleshly and soulish desires…paraphrased. They are to no avail, leaving one feeling hopeless and burdened, tapped in a cycle that they cant’ break free from.

There is a resurrection power that comes from the spirit of holiness Romans 1:4, that will RAISE us up to a higher dimension IN Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:10 says, “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection..” knowing Christ Jesus is the way into holiness. It doesn’t refer to just knowing about, but to intimately know through relationship. And if you have been RAISED with Christ according to Colossians 3:1, then seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Where we are seated with Him Ephesians 2:6. Set our minds on things above, not on things that pertain to the earth, Colossians 3:2.

It is having our hearts and minds, set on heavenly principles and not earthly, choosing the High-Way.

  • Set your heart: on that higher realm, to desire it, long for it, to be captivated by it, and to turn your heart towards it…Repent.
    • Look back at Day 2’s post on Repentance.  John the Baptist was crying out prepare the way by means of repentance.  The Greek word which we translate as repentance is metanoia, meaning to change our mind.
  • Set your mind: on the higher realm;  on purpose think about it; another meaning of, to know is cognizant, to be consciously aware of…the Kingdom of heaven is at hand, it surrounds us and envelops us, a mystical union of oneness. Mystical means relating to something mysterious. Ephesians 1:9 says the Father has made KNOWN to us the mystery of His will…that is Christ IN us the hope of Glory. Colossians 1:27

Pursue and seek His face, you will find yourself walking on this highway of holiness…where the Glory of The Lord will rise upon you. To a place of having clean hands and a pure heart. It’s not our earthly thoughts or ways that will light the path but His WORD, Jesus is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalms 119:105

I am sharing a word from Catherine Brown called Highway to Holiness.

THE HIGHWAY TO HOLINESS

While worshiping at a recent prayer breakfast, we were seeking the Lord and repenting of disunity within the Body of Christ. The Lord showed me the following in a vision :

I saw that the Lord’s army had assembled and many people had gathered, each with a sponge or flannel in one hand and water to wash with in the other, but the water was cloudy and looked impure. I saw the Lord’s army walk out to meet the lost, offering to wash their feet. But their words were falling on deaf ears – it was as if they were mouthing words that had no actual sound to them – such was the insignificance of their impact on the hearers, who turned away, totally ignoring all efforts of the believer to wash their feet.

Perplexed, I asked the Lord what was wrong and He directed me to look at the feet of the believers. I looked down and was horrified to see that every single person’s feet were completely filthy. Each believer was bare foot – not one of them had a pair of shoes to wear. This was not just surface dirt, but dirt that was engrained in! It was a dirt that had obviously taken many years to accumulate. The Lord’s army was oblivious to the unclean state of its own feet, but was trying to offer to wash those of unbelievers, who were clearly able to see the filthy condition of the feet of the Lord’s army. The Lord was weeping great rolling tears at the condition of His children’s feet, and their blindness to it.

I saw a road appear before the Lord’s army, and I recognized this as the highway to Holiness. It was stony, uneven ground and badly lit. I saw those who were walking on it were able to see one step at a time, by the glow from their hearts – this glow was the holy Presence of Jesus that lit their way as they walked along. Those who walked upon this road were shod with shoes, their gospel peace.

The Lord spoke and said “My children, I have shown you by example how to love one another and how to serve one another. You must come to a place of genuine and heartfelt humility, where you will offer to wash each others feet. You must be clean before Me, before you can minister to the lost, for they are able to see the worldliness and unforgiveness within My Body, far easier than My Bride is able to. They see disunity and discord, they see unforgiveness and petty jealousy and in seeing these things they want no part of Me. Repent and release forgiveness and blessing before your Father and unto one another, and as you reflect the unity of the Godhead, My Spirit will bring cleansing and a fresh wave of revival. Seek after the way of Holiness, you who will pay the price, and great will be the glory of the Son. Prisoners will be delivered from darkness if you will put aside your differences, and obey My great commandments, put on the meekness of Christ and clothed in Him, hidden in Him, as bond-servants of Christ, go and release the captives. When your hearts and hands are clean before me, then you will be shod to reach a dying world.” Amen

He who has clean hands, and a pure heart…who walk this high-WAY of Holiness…will be ascending and descending upon the Son of Man…IN HIm.

8th Day of “Stepping Beyond the Veil Fast”

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God almighty…

Our prayer and fasting focus for today is Isaiah 35:8 A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the “Highway of Holiness.”

This Baptism of Fire will bring with it Holiness. We have looked at the purifying affect it will have on our flesh and soul in previous post. But that in itself is not holiness, because it is not an outward appearance, that is religion, it is something that happens on the inside and affects the fleshly, soulish walk. Let me try to explain it this way…

Holy – what does it really mean?

In Revelations 4 the living creatures are described as having eyes without and within, one might wonder why they were created covered with eyes.  The Lord said the reason He created them covered in eyes is that it was part of their job description…“LOOK AT ME,” says The Lord…to behold and gaze upon Him.  They are spending eternity gazing upon The Lord and with each time they circle the Throne they CRY OUT “HOLY” and each time they cry out the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the King of Glory. They will never cease giving Him honor and praise.

As we move from our earthly mindset and perception of what Holy means and look at this from a Heavenly perspective, where we are seated with Him IN Heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) it takes on a whole new revelation. If we look at it through the lens of Revelations 4, what does Holy mean?  It means, “I never saw that before.”

Following this line of perception, Holy was an expression, a description for what the Living Creatures saw or were beholding, gazing upon.  Each time they flew around The Throne they beheld a new revelation of The Lord, something never seen before. They will spend eternity SEEING a new attribute, A fresh revelation of The Lord.  And their response is “Holy.”

Holy Spirit said this was like a cause and effect type of experience.  When The Lord says, “Be ye holy for I am holy,” 1 Peter 1:16, it’s not something we do to make ourselves holy.  It’s “Beholding Him”“Gazing upon The Lord.”

The cause: we behold…The effect: Holiness.

Gazing  upon The Lord causes revelation of His Glory.  A fresh revelation changes us from Glory to Glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 Just as the Living Creatures, we will spend eternity discovering the riches of His Glory, and with each new revelation a new degree of Glory is revealed in us. We become more like what we are SEEING…HOLY is the person of Jesus.  So when we think of Holy as something I never seen before…we are discovering or seeing Him new with every encounter we have with Him.

As we journey on this Highway of Holiness, it’s a walk of BEHOLDING…and BECOMING!
